About the Ljubljana parking calculator

Street parking in Ljubljana costs up to €1.70 per hour in zone 1. Parking five days a week, eight hours a day, costs from €33 (P+R) to €455 (LPT Kongresni trg) per month. That is a difference of €5,070 a year for the same parking.

For the zone you choose, the calculator compares every parking option we have prices for: P+R car parks, individual LPT car parks, parking garages and private car parks (LPT, BOE SLO, Parks1, Janez d.o.o., SŽ-ŽIP, SPL, ALEJA, BTC, Ekonomska fakulteta) with monthly passes, paying by the hour on the street, and renting a private space. If you enter your destination or use your location, the calculator finds the zone and shows the distance to each car park.

Note: if you live in Ljubljana, a resident parking permit (in Slovenian) is usually cheaper than any option in the calculator. The calculator is mainly meant for visitors and day commuters, who cannot get a permit.

Frequently asked questions about parking in Ljubljana

What is the cheapest way to park in Ljubljana?
Park and ride (P+R) car parks are by far the cheapest option for day visitors. Parking five days a week costs about €32.50 per month, and the price includes two city bus rides every day. If you need to park in the centre, the calculator shows the cheapest option in the zone you choose.
How much does P+R cost in Ljubljana in 2026?
Parking at a P+R car park in Ljubljana costs €1.50 for 24 hours and includes two LPP city bus rides on the same day. Five days a week (on average 21.67 days a month) comes to about €32.50 per month. P+R car parks include Dolgi most, Stožice, Studenec, Ježica and others on the edge of the city.
What is the difference between zones 1, 2 and 3 in Ljubljana?
Ljubljana has three street parking zones with different hourly rates and time limits. Zone 1 (city centre) costs €1.70 per hour with a limit of mostly 2 hours, 4 hours in some streets. Zone 2 (wider centre) costs €1.00 per hour with a limit of 6 hours. Zone 3 (residential districts and outskirts) costs €0.70 per hour with a limit of 10 hours. At night (from 22:00 to 6:00) a flat night rate of €2.00 per night applies in all zones. See the Parking prices page for details.
How much is a monthly pass for a parking garage in Ljubljana?
In LPT parking garages the monthly pass costs €150 for individuals (H-2) and €250 for companies (H-3); zone 1 residents can get the H-4 pass for €70. Garages run by other operators have their own prices: Meksiko, Trdinova and Šentpeter (BOE SLO) €160 per month, Komenskega €165 per month, Kapitelj €180 per month.
How much does street parking in Ljubljana cost per month?
Street parking has time limits: mostly 2 hours, 4 hours in some streets in zone 1, 6 hours in zone 2 and 10 hours in zone 3. Parking on the street for eight hours is therefore only possible in zone 3, where five days a week costs about €121 per month (€1,456 per year). Six hours a day in zone 2 costs about €130 per month. For regular visitors, paying by the hour on the street is in practice the worst option.
Would a resident parking permit be cheaper?
If you live in Ljubljana, a resident parking permit is almost always cheaper than any option in the calculator. Annual permits differ by zone, vehicle type and residence status; details are on our permits page (in Slovenian). Visitors and day commuters cannot get a permit, so the calculator is the main tool for them.
How does the calculator handle the night rate?
The calculator assumes you arrive at 7:00. On the street the day rate applies every day from 6:00 to 22:00, including Sundays and public holidays, followed by a flat night rate of €2.00 per night. In LPT parking garages the hourly rate is charged until 24:00 and the night costs €4.00 per night (24:00–6:00).
Which costs are included in the calculation?
The calculator includes direct parking costs only: hourly street rates, price lists and monthly passes of public and private operators (LPT, BOE SLO, Parks1, Janez d.o.o., SPL, SŽ-ŽIP, ALEJA, BTC, Ekonomska fakulteta) and the daily P+R price including the bus. It does not include fuel, wear on the car, walking time from the car park or any fines.
How often is the calculator updated?
Prices are taken from the websites of parking operators in Ljubljana and updated whenever a price change is published. The JP LPT price list has applied since 12 January 2026; the date of the last update is shown below the calculator.
